John Bogle nomination for the Presidential Medal of Freedom

253px-PresMedalFreedomNo one in the mutual fund industry has done more to help investors achieve financial security than our mentor, Jack Bogle; and no one has a greater combination of practical experience, inventive genius, literary ability, kindness, modesty, desire to help others, and impeccable character than John Bogle.

So writes Taylor Larimore, co-author of “The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing” and one of the founders of the Bogleheads’ Forum, in a forum post dated January 29, 2014.

Taylor then proposed that John Bogle be nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

To further this  quest, on February 5, 2014 Taylor Larimore, Knut Rostad, Rick Ferri , Allan Roth and Mel Lindauer formed a working committee to prepare the letter nominating Jack Bogle for the Presidential Medal of Freedom and decide how best to present it to the President.
